After playing the ukulele for 3 years now i decided it was time for an upgrade. So, putting together 300 pounds i bought myself a Pono MSD Mahogany. And... Im loving it! However, i would like to replace the strings to get a more 'mellow' sound out of the beauty as sometimes it can sound quite dry. Firstly, do you know what strings it has in the first place and can you recommend any strings which produce a great mellow sound!

Many thanks
Harrison

I like Worth Browns for my older Pono mahogany tenor. Most mellow of what I have tried.

+1 for Worth BMs.

Ponos are usually strung with Ko'olaus, I can't remember if it's alohis or mahanas. Even if it's the latter, Worths are way more mellow to my ear.
