In your first link.. at 1:07, you can see the bridge is a brass cigarette lighter.

Although.. the paper mache head does look very realistic.....

Yeah, I couldn't watch more than a few seconds of that. Wow. Quite a thing.

There is a movie, currently streaming on Netflix, called "Frank". A little research I just did discovered that the fellow behind the movie was in Frank Sidebottom's band.

The movie is not a biography but it is pretty out there.

I think the guy might be real, but I am pretty sure the head is paper mache or something.

Sounds like his voice is mimicking Andy Kaufman doing Tony Clifton.

The bio says the head was originally paper mache but he then had it made of fiber glass

I didn't like the movie Frank all that much, but this article from The Guardian on the real person that inspired it is really a great read. (http://www.theguardian.com/culture/2014/jan/12/frank-sidebottom-movie-michael-fassbender-chris-sievey)

No , that is his real head .

A terrible genetic deformity I'm afraid. So sad.

He's every bit as real as Tiny Tim was.

Frank was a comedy legend in the UK. There is a statue to him in Timperley.
