For you gigging uke players, there's not much out there to cover the soundhole for feedback fighting. Heck, other than the really expensive lutehole.com, there isn't even a product for smaller guitar soundholes. Here's how I made my own custom feedback busters, even for the KoAloha "musubi" shape.

I use a half pencil and scribble over the edge:

I cut a piece of scrap spruce 1/4" smaller in diameter (this dimension will depend on the weather stripping you use).

Here's the weather stripping from Home Depot that I used:

The final installed picture, I'll probably add finish for better protection and presentation.

Here you can see the low profile of the height, which is much lower than the lutehole covers:

Here's one I covered with pickguard material to match my black guitar:

This one is a matching half koa/mango in the signature KoAloha "musubi" shape:

Just a note that it's much easier to build these from the soundhole cutouts given away free at the factory tours:

I like it! Very nice. I especially like the designs with the cutouts.

Brillant! I'm going to make one of these. Finally something I think I can handle. Thanks for sharing.

My pleasure, hope it helps. It may be good to know that I install the weather stripping with the teardrop side underneath and make the top of the wood flush with the top of the double-sided tape on the stripping. The teardrop underneath acts like a clamp when it's squeezed under the soundhole lip.

Ditto...now cure cancer. You can do it. I have some spare test tubes you can use.

I'm working on it. Cannabis shows great promise for certain types of cancers. I'm a certified Medical Grower so as I said I'm on it.
