chord/chord?

In reading some chord sheets, I'll occasionally see something like Bm/G or Bm/A etc.

What does this mean?

Those are commonly called "slash" chords.

The simple answer is, it's a guitar thing (they've got too many strings). Just play the chord and ignore the slash/whatever.

You can't always ignore the second bit. Only if the note is part of the chord. I wrote about playing slash chords on the ukulele here.
