ca 1930 Martin 5K soprano with original hardshell case. No cracks or repairs. Some light strum wear on treble side and a few small nicks and dings. Very nice example.

Asking $9200, shipping and insurance to be determined.

One of the guidelines for ukulele sales here is that you post a picture of the uke with a handwritten note with your UU a screen name and the current date.

That said, that is a mighty fine looking instrument!

wow, the holy grail. The note is actually a suggestion and is a good idea, esp on this caliber and price of uke.

Don't ask me, but I think that is a fair market price in that Condition right now...

Could be, but I just sold my vintage Martin S2 for less then what it was worth 3 years ago. I think Martin prices have come down a bit since they started reproducing most of their former vintage models. I think that it is a outstanding example of their rarest top of the line soprano model but luckily it is not my preferred size. Of course out of my price range too.

Good luck with the sale. I think it is collectable fine peice of art.

Thanks for the comments. I've had this for about 17 years and have noticed prices over time. It wasn't that long ago these were selling for much higher (12-15K). It may be because of the reissues but I think the vintage market overall is down. I'm also familiar with prewar Gibson Mastertone banjos and the drop is about the same.

A soprano is not my preferred size either but it was the most common for the period, especially in koa. I'm selling now simply because I recently retired and trying to downsize.

This is a gorgeous 5K. But not quite the rarest top of the line soprano. Martin made nearly 1000 5K soprano ukes but the rare variations are the Style 5 in flamed mahogany and 5K in the Ditson dreadnought body shape.

Aloha Uke girl and Newport local.
Yes I do have one of these and mine however is in mint condition..a uke better than a holy grail vintage 5K , I had a few martins, none can compare in the tone ... mine sounds amazing..:)

I suggest that u can send to ur friend in US, and then find someone to bring it back as I do (Coz I guess the tax will be huge in our country)... It is another torture, though.

I'll consider offering this case as part of a deal on the 5K. The green lined case is the original case.

Are you selling the case by itself?? I'd take it off your hands

I may consider it if I don't sell it with the 5K

Serious offers considered for the 5K with or without the additional case.

For some reason I find it disturbing you're considering splitting up an original 1930 uke and case. Especially a 5K. I know it's not my concern but still...

Opps sorry, just saw that you have two cases. Hope it's the blue lined you're willing to sell. Good luck with the sale, looks like a good deal

Yes, the original case is the green one and will go with the 5K. The buyer of the 5K will have the option to also buy the blue-lined case.
