Now don't anybody get all high an mighty. I own a few good ukes, but a Rogue Baritone fit my need to have an instrument to keep at school (where I teach 4th grade.)
The kids like to bang away, and I don't want to risk damage to a decent instrument.
My issue is -- The thing plays like a brick. Very little sound. The strings seem awfully thick. I know, a crappy uke is probably always going to be crappy.
Would better strings help? Should I just set it on fire? Or cut it into a cigar box uke? Pour cement inside and sink her?
(Back on the 70's cops shows, the police always carried a "throwdown" piece, a gun which they'd put on a suspect if they accidentally killed an unarmed man. I figure any uke you really wouldn't play for friends as a "throwdown.")
