A simple, clean baritone build without trim binding or rosette. Uses a simple reverse heel design on the neck
scale: 20.125", 14th fret at the body.
Top: curly redwood
back/sides: curly claro walnut
fingerboard/bridge: ebony
braces: 3 fan, Adirondack spruce.
neck: quarter sawn pacific yew, carbon fiber truss rod.
headstock overlay: curly koa
Top compliance 2 lb weight: 0.005-0.0075

Sounds lovey. biggest mistake was on the first neck which had to be scrapped. otherwise pretty tight and accurate. This one is for me, the previous 2 went out as gifts to friends.

I really like claro walnut. It bends, sands, finishes like butter. I am really sold on it as a body wood. The redwood with curl is more difficult to work with but has a nice rich tone.

Nice woods. Any reason you stopped the frets at the 16th?

I don't play to much above the 16th and when I was working on the fingerboard I kinda liked the look of it so left it that way. Out of curiosity I was messing around with harmonics and also playing it fretless above the 16th and it worked out ok too!
