I like the arrangement she has on her website of the Ellington piece. Nice sounding and just the right amount of challenge for me.

Can anyone comment on the other arrangements?

Oh, and the website says "40+" arrangements, then names 19 songs "& 11 more", which doesn't exactly add up.

I don't have the book, but I soon will. Arrangements look well thought out. In addition, this book is somewhat unique in that it contains a high percentage of tunes that I would have chosen to include. I have a few other chord melody books that have some tunes that I like playing, but most not so much.

Given the obvious time and effort put into this book, this appears to be well worth the cost. In particular, I like supporting work of small operations over slick glossy publishing houses.

I like this book much better Ukulele Jazz by Kobayashi . The arrangements may be a little harder than the book that you referenced but they good. I'm basing this off the one sample that was on the web site that you linked in your post.

If you look on Ebay for the book, you can get shipped to you for around $39 . I'm only using the link to show some of the pages in the book.

The link below is on ebay but will show you a couple of songs.

I like this book a lot but the arrangements are more difficult with more complex rhythms. I would suggest starting out with Ukulele Jazz before attempting this book.

I have this book and his new Christmas book. They come with a CD of all the songs. I downloaded them into my IPad and can listen to each song as I learn them. I highly recommend this book. I bought it through his site in Japan. Only problem is you have to get an Amazon.JP account. No big deal. I think each book was around $35 shipped.
Also, Ukulele Mike has three chord/melody books. I just bought his book #1 with 52 songs for $29.95. It's an ebook. You can print each song. He plays many of them on his website so you can get an idea of what your buying. Hope this helps.

Thanks Kayak Jim for the heads up on this book. I have ordered two of them and am looking forward to getting into them when I return from holidays on April 9th. I sent an email with some questions and Susan responded immediately, was very helpful and accomodating.

The first thing I do when I receive a cd and music book is convert the Cd in itunes. Then I put them on the ipad like you. It's very helpful when reviewing a song because you can move back a few seconds during a song on the ipad, which is much harder with a cd. Also, I do not wear out or risk scratching the Cd.

I have the book. By my count there are 44 arrangements (two arrangements each for As Time Goes By, Tumbling Tumbleweeds, Manha de Carnaval, and Aura Lee), of these 12 are of Public Domain material. There are 26 tunes from the swing era. I could post the table of contents.
