Poor old Matthias got a thorough drubbing here when he did his ukulele build. Let's see how he fares with this great video on resawing..

No drubbing here -- informative and really quite considerate. I mean, he made a wooden model of a band saw blade -- that's awesome!

Fascinating... Really drives home the point that I tend to unconsciously overclamp. Just stop it!

Wow. That glueing clip was VERY interesting for me as a hobby builder.
I have (till now) squeezed hard and tight thinking that was the best method.
Just goes to show!
I'll be more aware now and stop over clamping.

Yer- the best part is the gap filling strength which is great to know as it relates to how most of us glue on bridges etc

Yer. When you remove lacquer for bridge gluing there will always be a gap that is the thickness of your lacquer. I know builders who make a big deal of this and take great pains to chamfer the outer perimeter of the bridges to totally eliminate that gap. I don't bother, I just glue and clamp. I haven't had a bridge failure in over 600 ukes.

If you want even more about Bandsaw use, setup, and such, there is a free online class. Woodcraft sent this link out recently.
