View Full Version : Good Concert-size Uke kit?

I just completed my first soprano from the Grizzly kit. I replaced the soundboard with Engleman spruce, and I'm very impressed with result. I'd like to start working on a higher quality instrument, preferably in the concert size. Are there any good kits available? I'd like pre-bent sides and a pre-slotted fret board.
Thanks!
Mika

Someone mentioned G-string at our last social gathering but I have no idea what sizes they were.

Uklectic! (http://uklectic.com/ukulele_kits.html)

You probably won't find a better-quality kit out there.

Yup, doesn't get much better than Pete Howlett's kits.

Yup!

Check out this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhrSVpTRCfY) for more info on his kit. (And check out all of his video's while you're at it - they're super helpful.)

It looks like Pete's moved out of the kit business in the last several years, but this thread is still one of the first to pop up when searching concert ukulele kits.

Any updated recommendations, folks? Thanks,

John
