Hello,
A few coincidences aligned this spring to inspire my first acoustic uke design & build, not from a kit. Inspired by making a new one piece bridge-saddle and buying new friction tuners for an old Gibson, then learning I shouldn't alter the originality of it.

It sounds nice and the looks are growing on me.
I'm calling it sliced pineapple.

I'm curious if there are others of this shape or pineapple with cutaway.

Advice on hand planing & thickness sanding, 16" necks, steam bending, all thanks to so many of you in the archives!

that link is bad

So far, so good, kind of a warm tone with good clarity.
I have the Living water low g concert strings on it and it sounds quite similar to the Gibson with the same strings, a bit louder, which is what I was trying for.
I am hoping not to have it to tinkly with most of the inside volume on the bass side.
It is not as loud as a Kanilea super concert that is the closest comparison I have on hand.
I will look to get a sound sample when the strings are fully stretched in if my pre-smartphone technology still works.
