I wanted my own resophonic and made this to cure my UAS. This is PT-33, an experiment with a side sound port. It seems to be worthwhile. The materials are walnut and primavera. I bought the cone and cover from Uke Republic. I plan to bring it to UWC and let others play it to provide me with feedback. The back side of the soundboard has 12mm thick baltic birch to create the ring for the cone.

Awesome! I'm jealous you can build your own uke to cure your own UAS, by the way.

Very nice! I've probably posted this before, but I love the shape of your pears - very graceful. How are you liking the side sound port?

I think building isn't exactly a cure for UAS, it just changes to "type B" or UBS.

Hi Gary. I noticed that in the photos at the start of this thread that the uke had a wooden tie block affixed to the cover plate, but it is absent in the video. Did you find another solution to the problem of the anchor holes in the cover plate cutting the strings?

I have my first resonator underway. I hope it sounds as good as yours when done!

Good eye! I started with a tie block but didn't like the angle the strings met the saddle. I read some strings break because of sharp edges on the cover plate string termination holes. I deburred the holes and tossed the tie block. So far, so good.

Love it (and your non-reso pear-shaped ukes too)!
