Ukuleles retain their value better than guitars?

I recently started playing classical guitar a few months ago. I started off with a cheapo Cordoba. I've enjoyed playing classical guitar so much that I'm now in the market for a luthier made guitar. I've noticed that there seems to be a glut of classical guitars on ebay, craigslist, various classical guitar forum marketplaces that sell at a much smaller fraction of their original costs than ukuleles. Also, they don't seem to move as fast ukuleles. This has been advantageous to me as I'm seeing tons of good deals with little competition. But then it makes me a bit sad because I would like there to be more business for all the talented guitar luthiers.

For non-classical guitars (i.e. traditional guitars as used in rock, country and blues: Fender, Martin, Taylor, etc.) I think the opposite might be true; it's downright impossible to find a good bargain.

But, yep, classical guitars are not all the rage, for sure.

If I ever decide to play classical guitar I will commission an instrument from Luis Feu de Mesquita.
