Finally got some time to finish a new tenor uke.

I had some amazing Madagascar rosewood that I resawed in about 2007. I paired it with some nice bearclaw spruce and bordered by some blue Paua abalone purfling and flamed Koa binding. I finished it with nitro lacquer.

I named her Pua Mahina, Flower Moon, because I strung her up on the night of the full moon in May.

Lovely instrument... The large sound hole looks unique too. 3"?

Very nice! Does it play as well as it looks?

Thanks, Sequoia. The sound hole is 80mm (which is pretty darn close to 3 inches!) I learned lutherie in Spain, so I've stuck with metric measurement.

Thanks, Nickie. The owner said he was "over the moon" with the uke. It always makes me feel good when people are happy when they get instruments that I make.
