Just curious. I have noticed that posting is slowed considerably on the weekends. I would think the opposite. What's going on here?
I think it has a lot to do with the return of nicer weather. Folks have all sorts of other stuff that they have to, or want to, do when the weather is nice.
And, this particular weekend, many UUer's are at Ukulele World Congress, and out of touch, temporarily....
I noticed it all year but I don't have a life so I get to post everyday.
All of the uke meetups I go to are on the weekends. Just got back from one, in fact.I suppose there's also a chance that they are playing at jam sessions, etc . . . ld:
Quit tip toeing around, working people post more on week days during working hours, when they are stuck on their work computer.
Things pick up a lot in the winter. This time of year in the USA, people are out playing.
Nailed it! Wasting company time explains it all.Quit tip toeing around, working people post more on week days during working hours, when they are stuck on their work computer.
I'm just speaking from personal experience.Even though we've never met you know me oh so well.

Despite frigid cold, this past winter did not pick up as it has in the past; there were threads this winter about how slow it was here, Pip.
Last of all there are the folks like me who have no life at all, and are incapacitated, anti-social hermits who are endlessly frustrated by that block of three of five hours that occur daily (in my time in Oz between 4pm and 9pm) when the UU is a ghost town and the tumbleweeds blow. Yup, here comes another sorry lookin one now...

One of the Disney princesses, the Littlest Mermaid, plays uke, right? That influences at least one demographic. Yeah, novelty trends are quirky. Some last, some don't; c.f. skateboards vs hula hoops. In photography, really horrible film cameras like the Holga and Diana (plastic lenses, light leaks, double exposures) are 'hip' enough to drive film sales and keep some firms producing raw films. Is Disney [shudder] saving the uke?Ukulele has been trendy for a while. It's still more of a "novelty" (for a lack of better word) instrument than, say, guitar...
I'm only slightly incapacitated. Otherwise, I've been close enough to that model... and yeah, we grumpy old phartz are the mainstay of many online forums. Free time + obsessions + attitudes = lively discussions.Last of all there are the folks like me who have no life at all, and are incapacitated, anti-social hermits...
For those of working age the weekends are family time, getting outside time, actually engaging with life. Weekdays folks are looking for a 10 minute sabbatical from their office work on the computer and it's nice to unwind at night at catch up on the day's forum gabble that you've missed.
Add to that a lot of our membership are older people and semi retired. Through the week is downtime for them but on weekends the opportunities for socialising, going to the theatre, a park, a movie, a picnic etc are more opportune perhaps.
