Lots of different ways to do this but this is my method. I usually use mahogany, toon or Spanish cedar. This is Spanish cedar that was intended for necks but had some dark sap lines in it I didn't like. Once all the strips are cut I run them through my drum sander in a cradle that creates a bevel. I'll knock down the hard edge by hand just before installing them. Three hours of work for 180 pieces = one strip a minute.
