Here’s a way for accurately fitting inlays. I made a small router table by welding a 5/8” nut to a plate that is screwed to MDF with a hole in it. (All Dremel motors have a 5/8” thread just behind the collet for mounting accessories.) I clamp this table right next to where I’m working and use it for sanding inlay pieces. One great advantage is that it makes the work piece edge square, resulting in a better fit. On this rosette I fit and glue the inner joint, then sand the outer edges to fit within the purfling. When polished the MOP pieces will shine like a diamond as it is viewed at different angles.

This looks very nice.
How do you get the offset of the inner circle that makes the inlay wider at the bottom than the top?
I keep looking for a second center hole.
I too especially like the diamond facet look.
