I just came across this while actually searching for something else completely and thought that fellow UU folks might be interested.

I have not decided for myself if I like her music or not. It's very left-of-center for me.

Well, I have decided that I do like her. She has an infectious, quirky way about her, and the music has a jazzy vibe to it. I'm a big fan of the tiny desk concert series from NPR. I have found quite a bit of new music/artists through it that I may never have otherwise come across. Thanks for posting it.

Anytime!

I regularly mine the NPR Tiny Desk concerts for new music as one of my prime sources, as well as 'All Songs Considered'.

Lisa Hannigan's is another Tiny Desk concert that you might want to check out. I love her music and her voice has both a powerful, yet almost ethereal quality to it, and SHE TOO PLAYS UKULELE!!! YAY !!! :)

I really liked her first album, "Get Away from Me". I've listened to the next couple of albums, and they didn't do anything for me. The songs weren't as memorable. She's mostly a piano player, not ukulele. On the first album, she also played a fair amount of vibes. This was her "big" song:

Interesting. Every time I've seen a video of her, she plays her song 'Mother Of Pearl' and about 3-4 others on uke, as well as some piano and some guitar. The lyric line 'feminists don't have a sense of humor' might ring a bell.

As per the song below:

About 5 months ago she had a concert on PBS (which I also linked in this section of the forum), whereby she played about half of the show on ukulele, and the other half on piano. Folks may not remember the video as her, since her hair was cut short and was brunette color, and not blonde.
