I received this 4'x8'x1" sheet of MDF parts this week from Harbor Sales, a sign supply company in MD that I use for CNC cutting. They are pretty straight forward, cut your file, wrap it up, and free delivery to your shed. Sawdust and all.
I worked up an Adobe Illustrator file consisting of two sizes of (guitar) bending forms, and two sizes of building forms. The parts were connected so I had to saw them apart. But it's easy. And man is it nice to get the computerized precision of the layout and the router cut. The parts are exact and fit together perfectly.
The charge for routing was about $100 (+ the MDF). But that got me two LMI style bending forms, and two nice building forms. So, 25 smackers each for that kind of labor ain't bad. Especially for the precision.
I'll split those "inside" form shapes to make some inside clamping cauls.
