Just stumbled across steel strung electric ukes on ebay uk identical to the Vorson range but branded Clearwater. They're on amazon too for £89!

I wonder why the names are changed, does it have to do with the local distributor? Wouldn't one world wide name give it more credibility?

Not really. It's not as if "Vorson" is remotely recognisable as a brand outside the dozen or so people who know about the ukes.
