If Ukers tune their Lo-G Ukes to open tuning (Lo-G CEG), they can play Bugle Calls without fretting!

Just a little something to do between buying new Ukes! :eek:ld:

... Come to the uke-house door boys ... ;)

Dad was a bugler ... maybe the calls are different in the US :)

Today's the 30.000th Last Post bugle call in Ypres. Every evening since 1928 (with the exception of WWII) at 8 PM volunteers of the local fire brigade close traffic at the memorial Mening Gate and call their bugles ('Taps') to remember the lost lives of WWI - there's some 40.000 names of MIAs written on the gate.

The way they're going to celebrate the 30.000th time, and 100 years of WWI, is by having fire corps all over the world call the signal at the same time - with either bugles or - if you wish - ukuleles.

Another kid and I usta play "To the Colors" on our trumpets over the intercom every morning in Jr. High.

I was in the Keesler AFB Ms Drum and Bugle Corps too. I like military music--nothing like a stirring march! :eek:ld:

This is incredible. We used to have trumpet players from the band play taps - Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, and such.
