Been messing with this tuff for a few weeks now and have discovered it's strengths and weaknesses. First, it is far easier to apply than paste filler, epoxy or cyno acylate. It works best on side grain but becomes patchy around the heel and back of the headstock where end grain presents itself. It responds well to water based stains and you need at least 2 - 3 coats on most of the usual open pored woods we use. I'm going to use it for some of my bodies but not my necks - despite trying again for the 3rd time with CA and failing (sinking and uneven coverage) I'll stick with epoxy for all my gloss finished instruments. Thanks for posting stuff about filling - got to try it to see how I can improve :)
