Last night at kanikapila at ‘Ukulele Sundays at Molly Bloom’s in San Clemente, California, Keith brought a Skatalele, To describe the sound plugged in, it was similar to a Tahitian 'Ukulele. Unplugged it is soft and bright. I had fun playing some blues on it. The best way I can describe it is it's a fusion between Pacific Island and California Surf music cultures. The eye appeal is off da' hook. Here’s their website where you can ask questions:

Supercool!

Made from skateboards! awesome! That would combine my two favorite pastimes' Not sure how it would play but I'll have to look into one of these!

I envisaged either a connection to scat-singing or to, umm, animal scat. Sure, that could be done. For making sh!tty music, right?
