It exists. Now anyway. I found a beginner's guitar (terribly cheap First Act) recut the nut, and shifted the strings around. It's just a bit bigger than my Kala baritone, and it sounds pretty decent.
The fingerboard is nice and roomy, and it really plays like a baritone, just with a nice steel string sound. I'm not a professional player, so I'm not a good person to test it out, but I'll post some sound files tomorrow.
