High G Low G nut filing?

I thought this *might* deserve a seperate thread.
My Concert uke has regular high g type strings- re-entrant.

If I put a low G set- will the nut slot be to narrow to accept the Low G?
I'd def go with an unwound Nylgut low g.

With an unwound low g, it is a strong possibility that the nut slot will be too narrow if it was setup for a high g string. Unwound low g strings are sizably wider than high g strings.

Wound low g strings are closer in diameter to high g strings, and are a safer choice regarding proper sizing with nut slots originally setup for high g strings.

I just noticed A. Nylgut Concert Fifths come with 2 wound strings (one being the low G).
So perhaps I should try the wound low G.

So NOW what I think I'll do is this:
just buy a single Aquila woung low G and pop it on.

Any comments on that?

I understand it's a fairly common change to make from a standard re-entrant tuned Uke.

How is that a transition?
I don't strum or sing, so I think a lower string would be good.
ALSO- don't make the mistake and assume I give a damn about tradition!
