The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago is playing host to three excellent Hawaiian musicians: George Kahumoku, Dennis Kamakahi and Richard Ho'opi'i. They're performing on Friday, March 20 at the main performance stage at the school (4544 N. Lincoln), and will be doing a group of workshops before the show. There are also 4 workshops happening before the concert: hula, slack key guitar, 'ukulele strumming, and slack key 'ukulele. If you're in the Chicago area this will be an excellent chance to learn from some knowledgeable musicians.

The concert is nearly sold out, but there's still plenty of seats left in the workshops. They do start at an inconvenient time (5:30 PM is the kickoff time for all of the workshops), which may be why they're not full yet. Still, if you have the chance to attend this would be a rare opportunity to get some high-value instruction.

For information on the concert please see this page at the OTS Website, and for workshop information check out the Workshops page on the OTS site.
