Awesome little bit of insight of Mr. Howlett. I didn't know he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. I certainly hope he reaches his goal of 1,000 ukes and many, many more.

I make a quote very early on that I need to qualify here. Back in 1994 I was contracted by a Hawaiian store owner to build high quality 6 and 8 string slotted headstock tenor ukulele for sale and distribution in Hawaii. At the time he couldn't get the quality or style of instrument I was building in the quantity he required from home. Local builders had enough to do supplying the Asian market and were not interested in batch building at wholesale prices - I was and this is where I began. That was then and this is now - a great resurgence of small batch builders doing a great job, equal if not better than my early foray into the ukulele market. The comment was made to me by my distributor and accreditation got lost in the edit
