Just came back from Midwest Uke fest in Indiana, where one of attendees had a radial uke. The fret board is slightly curved and is supposed to make barring easier. His model is Ko’olau, made by John Kinnard Ukes. He paid over 2K for it used.

I found the Kinnard Ukes web site but nothing there about radial ukes. Nor anywhere else. Any information people can share about this type of ukulele will be welcomed.

I think what You are referring to is a " radiused fretboard " .

All of the Kinnard ukes have radius fret boards as do many other higher end ukes. Take a search and the benefits or preferences around radius boards are quite widely discussed here on UU

And I'm pretty sure that Ko'olau, owned by the Kitakis family on Oahu, aren't remotely connected with Kinnard ukes, based in California.

Thanks. I was not aware of these previous discussions.
