I never see anyone on the forum talk about Takashi Nakumura.
That is until JustinJ shared a few links of him doing some amazing Jazz stuff on my thread about the Pekelo book 1 in the Uke Talk board.

Wow! TN is an amazing player with some awesome techniques.
How come no one talks about this guy?
I did a quick search on the forum and only found one comment about him.

Here is a sample of him "showing off":

Here are some more links to him playing:

TN doing the Jazz song Spain with a guy on a KALA u-bass ripping it up.

Honestly, watching this guy inspired me to work harder at the uke.
Who else has never heard of this guy until now?
Or how many of you have been keeping him a secret from the rest of us?

I am nearly always impressed by our own Andrew Morse, though I don't believe he is a professional. http://youtu.be/AUR1alvWCMM

I am also amazed at the prowess and variety from Johnny Foodstamp who isn't the most known but one of my favorites. http://youtu.be/3sjK7DV2U3Y

Actually I am very impressed by anyone that can do the 12th street rag.

It was Jake Shimabukuro and The GB Orchestra of Great Britain that got me started on the Uke, but then I went looking for lady players and found these:

It's truly amazing how versatile a four string instrument can be. In the hands of an artist, the possibilities are almost limitless. I enjoy seeing excellent musicians. I'm like you Johnson430. It encourages me to play.

If you like Takashi solo uke work, you should check out some of his guitar work.

I like how he adds a lot of feel to the song. Sometimes Jazz musicians will just play a lot of notes and not keep with the melody. I think he does a nice job of keeping the song interesting while staying with the melody. Also, some of the blues playing adds a nice touch to it.

But we all know these guys. Don't get me wrong, they are great players. I was hoping to enlighten folks about the obscure or less talked about innovative players like Takashi Nakumura. No one really talks about him and he is freakin' amazing. Even if Jazz isn't your forte.
Thanks for sharing this though.
