Ok so, if you had to take the ukulele notes and find them on a piano it would be C4 through to A5 (this A5 being the 12th fret A note on the A string)?

Is this correct?

Still wrecking my head with silly questions but when something bugs me it bugs me good!!

PS. I actually do practice a lot just trying to understand the questions that are popping into my head.
 
Open C on the uke is your middle C on the piano - so basically that open C + 2 octaves assuming youre tuning is reentrant ... that's about all I know man lol. :D

It would have way too many strings.


I tune my uke to my piano. Middle C first, then up to E, then G, then up to A. It's easy.

No you fool ....its gcea.........easy is Vulcan tuning ....get over it .....

It is correct if your ukulele only has 12 frets, but many ukes have even more frets.

My concert ukes have 15 frets, and my tenors 18 frets, and my baritones 19 or 20 frets. Some sopranos even have 18 frets. All depends upon the maker.

So the basic premise is the same, but the upper end of the note range would be higher than A5 until you run out of frets on the 1st or 'A' string.

If the ukulele were a piano, I'd probably be even more lost.

blue = UBass (EADG)
orange = baritone (DGBE)
green = GCEA (low and high g)
yellow = ADF#B (linear and re-entrant)
