I saw a Pono PTK 1 on the interent. About $ 240.00

Questions: Is used, but is it equivanent to a Pono MT $ 350.00

Are Pono knck off being made and if I buy a used one, how can I be sure I am not getting a knock off.

I must have missed the pono knock offs too, where are they? the koa ponos were the first early models made,
Highy sought after now and great tone..
I played that 6 string pono koa and told my friend 808 boy to grab it...
It one of his best ukes he has

It was actually posted on the Koolau/Pono ukes FAQ page. Apparently, Pono did have some authorized "Made in China"/“Final Set-Up on Oahu Hawaii” ukuleles.(1)

That the site states, "as a point of consolation, authorized Pono instruments that were made in China were very high quality." (1)
I am assuming this is before the place in Java was built but I would like to hear/see one of these "authentic" Made in China Pono.

Back on topic with the fake Pono:
From what I understand, there were knock-offs made and marketed in China but never left mainland China.(1)

I lived and worked in Shanghai for some years. You would be surprised at how many things were faked in China.
They faked everything. Even baby formula.
Baby formula!
