I saw a Pono PTK 1 on the interent. About $ 240.00

Questions: Is used, but is it equivanent to a Pono MT $ 350.00

Are Pono knck off being made and if I buy a used one, how can I be sure I am not getting a knock off.

Perhaps a better question would be if the Pono MT is the equivalent of the PTK 1. Here's a previous post on the matter. Many of us would trade you even an MT in the blink of an eye for that PTK 1. I've never heard of a Pono "
knock off":

There were some Pono knock-offs being sold in China some time ago. I doubt any made it out of the mainland.

It was actually posted on the Koolau/Pono ukes FAQ page. Apparently, Pono did have some authorized "Made in China"/“Final Set-Up on Oahu Hawaii” ukuleles.(1)

That the site states, "as a point of consolation, authorized Pono instruments that were made in China were very high quality." (1)
I am assuming this is before the place in Java was built but I would like to hear/see one of these "authentic" Made in China Pono.

Back on topic with the fake Pono:
From what I understand, there were knock-offs made and marketed in China but never left mainland China.(1)

I lived and worked in Shanghai for some years. You would be surprised at how many things were faked in China.
They faked everything. Even baby formula.
Baby formula!

It is the second question addressed.
