string tension increases with longer scale, the question is where you would feel better with a carbon fiber insert or truss rod. would this be a tenor size, or going to baritone size, or...??

In my opinion of building ukes of all sizes for years, no uke needs an adjustable truss rod. If you are worried about string tension, you can always double up on the carbon fiber rod, it works fine and doesn't add unwanted weight.

would you have a link to the carbon fiber rod you use, there's all kind of stuff out there and i don't have a clue. yeah. the light weight thing makes sense.

I purchase rods from Stewart-MacDonald. I use the 1/8" x 3/8" rods.
