Wow! I played with Mike Auldridge in Dallas, Texas last weekend at the Texas Steel Guitar Association's Annual Jamboree. I was hired as the staff guitarist in non-pedal steel room and I also did a set of my own music (yes, I played the uke on a few numbers).
Auldridge as many of you know is probably one of the worlds finest Dobro players. It was an honor(and so smooth and easy) to play with him.
Here we are playing the Benny Goodman classic Stompin' At The Savoy. Totally unrehearsed.
Mike asked me "do you know the tune?" I said "yes, what key?". He said "C". He immediately counted it off...
