Looks like the Reverb clip-on tuners are back on sale for $0.99. I grabbed one last time the deal popped up. I still like my Snark better but for less than a buck this thing is good deal.

Thanks for the heads-up. :)

Since I can always use another tuner, I just ordered one too.

Funny because the CR2032 batteries that these typically take cost like $1.50 each so, this is likely a loss leader for them.

They've sold 500 of them since I ordered mine about 2 hrs ago.

I'm cracking myself up right now, because I've almost hit the buy button twice this afternoon. Because this is such a good deal. But I have to keep reminding myself that I already have a tuner for each of my three ukuleles, one of which never even gets played, and I also have a tuner app on my phone. Plus, I'm pretty good at tuning it string to string. Why oh why do I feel like I need to take advantage of this deal?
How long is it good for?

if battery runs out just buy another tuner and don't worry about the battery. (Actually dollar tree sells a pair of cr232's)

My name, address and banking information is worth more to them than the .99 cents. I looked yesterday saw it was a tuner that you had to switch between what instrument it reads and said to my lady I would rather spend a bit more on a chromatic tuner that knows an A is an A. It is only normally $3.99 after all.

mikelz777

It has a chromatic setting as well.

yup, chromatic mode and a few common instruments. this tuner is superior to the old snarks.
I use one of these for when I do a setup. Also seems more durable than a snark.

Are these hard set to A440?

Well the lure of such a great deal has me pulling the trigger on another one of these tuners. I'll now have a Snark and two Reverb tuners so each uke I own will now have a tuner in its case. One of my three ukes has been relegated to the closet but it's been more than one occasion where I didn't take it out merely because I'd have to dig a tuner out of one of the other uke cases and I didn't want to do that. It's pretty lazy and lame but now I will have no excuses.

Do they work as good as a Snark? I've had two Snarks break at the swivel plastic piece on the back of the tuner. These look sturdier. Do they work well?
Thanks

I've never tested them against each other but to my ear, they work just as good as a Snark. When I tune my ukes using the Reverb, they sound great to me with no issues. The Reverb swivels on kind of a hinge, it's not an extended neck like on the Snark so it seems a bit sturdier. I've never had problems with my Snark but the only time I've ever moved the neck or head around was when I first got it. I set it and never moved it again. Same with the Reverb. I set them both to where I liked them and just clip them on the same way each time I use them, I never readjust either one. It's kind of a no-brainer. They work great and the only gamble is 0.99 cents.

I have tested my 2 reverb tuners against my nieces snark. They were spot with the snark tuner. The difference that I noticed is the snark is faster to react. This does not really affect much and the reverb tuners still do the job. For the price they can't be beat. I bought my first one for I think for .99 cents. The second one was 2.99. I had another, but had yet a different niece visiting from Alaska who told my she had a uke back home but didn't know much about it. That turned into an afternoon uke lesson on the basics of strumming, four easy chords, and learning one song. I sent her home with a set of new Martin strings and a reverb tuner. After that I had to buy another reverb tuner so I always have 2, one for home and one for the uke I carry to work everyday. Worth every penny, try them out!

Try these, they work fine and are inexpensive:

Just bought 6 of the tuners a few minutes ago.

My new tuner arrived. The battery needs to be installed.

Do I have to take it apart to do that? There are three small screws on the back.

I can't tell if the back plate comes off or not. Any insight would be appreciated.

Instructions are in the video on the page you ordered the tuner from.

Got mine yesterday too.

On the back there is a set of ridges across the middle diameter of the center, if you hold the face of the tuner firmly, and then rotate the part with the ridges about 30 degrees clockwise, there is a cover plate that comes off. I should note that it took more force than I thought would be necessary to open the back, but fear not, it DOES come off.

After you insert the battery, with the all flat + side up, it's a lot easier to twist the cover back on, but you have to press down, otherwise it will be very difficult to turn counter-clockwise to close it until it locks in place.

The display is significantly brighter and the note letters are HUGE compared to every other tuner I have, so this will be good as age progressively robs my vision :old:.

FWIW... Ordered on 10-16-2015, not yet received. I kinda forgot about them. Checked and Pre-shipment info was sent to USPS 10-22-2015.

Sent a message to seller (had to confirm email to do this so I'll probably get spammed). Such little money is involved that it is not a big deal. I would like the tuners, but I'm actually more interested in how Reverb works. It looks like an Amazon process with various sellers. I don't know what role "Reverb" (whatever that is) actual plays in the process.

The first time I ordered one of these from Reverb it took almost 3 weeks to show up. This time it only took 4 days. I would place the blame more on USPS than Reverb.

I pried the back of my mine off with a table knife as there was nothing in the directions. It wasn't until I posted these pictures that I realized there were arrows for "open' and "close" under the battery door. Luckily, the little "feet" did not break off.

Hold it facing away from you. Then, turn those ridges slightly clockwise. To put back on, place the battery cover feet in the slots with the cover positioned a little to the right, and turn the cover slightly counterclockwise until the row of ridges is horizontal again as in the second pic.

Update... The tuners arrived today. They are darn nice, especially for a buck. And, the seller got back to me. I'm pretty impressed that I got such a quick response for such a small sale.
