I purchased this on ebay a while back. It was not disclosed prior to the sale that it was [badly] refinished. I sanded the runs out
see [http://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/showthread.php?100707-stripping-refinishing-advice-needed] and it came out pretty good. I am playing mostly tenor now and really don't need 2 of these. This one looks much better than the other. There is a side crack that was glued [before I got it] and is stable. This is one of the older hot stamp[pre paper label] ones.. $300 + shipping. Will ship in a gig bag.

The photo of the sound hole shows the "Favilla Bros" stamp but no serial number, which I believe makes it pre-1953. They started making them in the late 40s, correct? So somewhere in that time frame.

The timeline, as I learned it, is:

pre-1953: no serial number
1953-1957: serial number stamped
post-1957: serial number on label
