EDIT: i didn't realize there was another post about sites. this can be moved.

i don't know if everyone is familiar with the site http://www.sheep-entertainment.nl/ukulele/index.html

it's an interactive interface which has been a great tool since i first started playing. i reference back to it once in a while when i want some new flavor.

play around with it and you'll love it. make sure that you click the tuning on the right that corresponds to you. (it also makes a great tuner if you don't have one!) i haven't been able to get the play along songs to work yet, but i haven't tried too hard.

i hope this is helpful to some or all of you.

wow! thats awesome. hopefully everyone will see this

ya i use that site now. prior to that, i used http://www.thesediments.com/ukechord.html , which does the same thing but uses java. also, if you want to see other chord shapes going up the fretboard, keep pressing the button for your chord and it'll show variations :D

I'll sticky this. It's pretty helpful.

Thanks everybody!

That is a great site. Been using it a little while now.

This is a helpful site, I really dig the Play along song section. Thanks!

download.com

there's a couple applications (freeware) on download.com

GREAT for working your scale exercises! Visually nice... the 2nd programs ok, more geared towards beginner beginner tho', but still a good and free source!

my 2 cents! :D

In my opinion, what makes the site so nice is that you can set the finger positions yourself, and it checks what chord equivalent that is. Chord charts are abound on the internets, but this really helped me out when I couldn't remember the chord names and finger positions in a progression someone showed me. Might also be useful when looking at videos etc. to find out what chords are being played.
