Hi Guys,

Just finished this one. Mango wood tenor using the hanalima plans. Its nice to be building again after a 4yr hiatus. This one came out pretty well, I think, with a nice tone. I still have to drop the action a bit more but that can wait until I change strings.

Back, sides, top: Mango
Neck: Mahogany
Binding: Maple/Rosewood Rope. (made it myself)
Tuners: Grover
Finish: Shellac

That is beautiful, how's it sound? :shaka:

Thanks for the compliments.

It sounds pretty good so far. I hope it will open up a bit as I play it.
I french polished the shellac. I didn't fill the pores, that mango has giant pores and I thought the filler would show too much. French polish is much easier to actually do than the descriptions make it seem!!
I'm a sucker for rope binding but its alot of extra work to make. Installing it isn't too bad though. I think I'll try to find more contrasting woods if I do it again...the maple came out less white than I thought. Looks very antique-y as is

Love it. I'm working on maple/rosewood rope binding myself. Looks great!
