After years of my uke frets is being dimmed. So I searched some method of re-crown frets.

Firstly I just use No.2000 sandpaper to sand the fret. The result will be follow. The frets are not smooth enough and shine.

And then I bought the "planet waves fret polishing system" and clean the frets with its cloth. It would be more shine and smooth in touch. It's a nice product :)

Ummmm I guess the marketing geniuses will figure out a way to sell anything. The old school would use a pink and white pencil erasure to not remove any material from the fret itself.

i got a bunch of mini cloth polishing wheels for the dremel. maybe some red buffing compound followed by white would shine them up. you'd get wax onto the fret board not necessarily a bad thing. i would do the job as simply as possible with what you have. the issue personally would not bother me as long as the frets were in good alignment doing their function.

Not tried for pencil erasure yet. Maybe give them a try next time :p
