Personally I think it sounds a little too, "angry" I guess I would call it, when strummed for me. Maybe some different strings would help mellow it out a bit.

I have had a Kala Mango Tenor and have a Koa Pili Koko Soprano. I would go with the KPK because it is solid Acacia wood, very similar to koa, and the Mango is laminate. My Kala sounded good. If you search Koa Pili koko on youtube there are a few reviews.

The big thing that irks me about KPK's is the wood nut. I've heard too much about the strings catching on it, making it difficult to tune.
I love the sound of the Mango tenor. But as mentioned above, it is laminate.
