Pohaku Art Deco Tenor—Price Drop

I am selling my Pohaku Art Deco Tenor. It has been a wonderful player, but some recent acquisitions mean I need to slightly downsize my tenors.

Honduran mahogany back and sides, western red cedar top. Details are superbly finished and fitted. Koa, mahogany, ebony, even ivory (from old piano keys) was used to construct the Art Deco style details. A terrific player both picking and strumming. It’s 1 9/16” at nut, 12 frets to the body, with the same Peter Hurney style slight bulge on the back. The construction is superb.

Here is the original review I posted: http://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/showthread.php?57110-Pohaku-Art-Deco-Tenor&highlight=pohaku+deco

A YouTube video I did some time ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJBTtDlq54k
Full disclosure: a few surface nicks in finish, but can't be photographed or seen beyond a foot or so. I had my luthier lower the bridge/action slightly when I purchased.
Glad to answer any questions; PM me.
Price Drop: $1295 includes shipping. Includes hard case. PayPal payment, gift if you can.

wow, what a beauty. In your review you said neck was 1 1/2+. now 1 7/16. [at nut] I like em wide, Koaloha has a neck profile I like and it's 1 1/2. so did it just seem wide at first?

strumsilly: haha, I just measured it again (and Ginny confirmed) what it is: 1 9/16"

I've changed both for sale posts.

Thank you!

Great looking Art Deco Pohaku tenor. That cedar top sounds really clean and warm.

You'll miss this one for sure. I am very tempted.

Love the Art Deco theme! I'd be on this if it were a Soprano...

It seems like Pohaku Ukuleles are not getting the respect that they deserve lately. I know this stuff goes in cycles, but this guy has been around for quite a while, consistently putting out quality, playable and great sounding ukuleles.

One of my best playing and sounding sopranos just happens to be an AERO-UKE made by Peter Hurney of Pohaku Ukulele. Trust me, it's not just a novelty uke.

Congrats in advance to the new owner of this Pohaku work of art!

Wm.

That's a sweet deal Craig. Pohaku tenors in this Art Deco style are around $2200.
