SOLD

Kala KA-GAS Golden Acacia Soprano. SN 1207. Solid top, laminate back and sides. Satin finish, very tactile to play. Closed gear tuners. Strings switched out for Ko'olau Alohis. In excellent condition.

Bought it new from a local music store. Selling/Trading it because I've been neglecting lately it and I hate to leave a deserving instrument unloved.

Sound is midrange-y but nice. Sound samples to be included as soon as I figure out how.

Make me an offer. I'm pretty open to trades or purchases and would love to see this uke go to someone who will play it.

Sound samples below (melody, chord melody, and strumming). Folk tunes are from Dick Sheridan's "American Roots Music for Ukulele". The jazz standard is from Jim Beloff's "Daily Ukulele" (Leap Year Ed.).

Please don't let me stop anyone from buying this little sweetie. I'm in contemplation mode as my main player is a KA-SEM. This might be a nice slight upgrade but possibly just a jump to the left as its the same ukulele more or less just different materials.

I'm looking at the herd wondering what I would offer in trade I have issues getting rid of things.

One question before I'm off to the wasteland. Does it have the rosewood binding its hard to tell from the pictures.

Yes, it has rosewood binding. The effect is subtle (very little contrast) but it adds a nice touch.

I wouldn't presume to compare the GAS and SEM having never played the latter. In researching the binding question, I discovered that the Hawaiian Music Supply once uploaded a better sound recording of the GAS than what I can manage at home: https://vimeo.com/73657271

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. I'll try my best to answer.

I'm open to trades for anything music-related, not just an ukulele. I've played wind instruments since childhood, read every night by saxophone lamplight, wear music staff ties to work, etc. If you like my ukulele and have something you think would interest me, make me an offer.

PM sent. Sadly I have nothing music related to trade. If you were closer I could trade you some professional grade tattooing for it but CT is a heck of a road trip for a small tattoo.

No surprises on the back of the ukulele?
