I have for sale a stunning Maui Music koa tenor in excellent condition. This is a TK4-DLX model and is serial number 4038. I am the first owner and purchased it new from HMS about six months back. Only selling now in order to pay some debt. It's an amazing looking and sounding instrument. The feel is superb, well balanced, and light weight. The sound is pure Hawaiian - great full koa tone, with excellent projection, and sustain. It has opened up nicely during my ownership, and is truly one of the nicest ukes I've ever owned.

The koa is lovely on this ukulele - lots of figure and color. Trademark oval sound hole. Ebony bindings with green and white wood strip purfling. Top and soundhole also have full abalone purfling. Koa bridge. Rosewood radius fretboard, nut, and saddle. Tuners are gold Gotoh UPT internally geared (4:1) tuners. Currently strung with Oasis bright high g.

The instrument is in excellent condition, seeing only gentle use. It has a few very, very minor nail marks from playing. Absolutely no cracks, dings, or structural damage. The price for this gorgeous koa uke is[B] $ with a very nice arch top Oahu case. That price will include shipping in the U.S. and PayPal fees. I will also throw in an Oasis uke humidifier and extra set of strings.

Please message me with any questions or comments. I will do my best to answer quickly. Thanks for looking!

I found the link to the original sound sample from HMS. Again, this instrument sounds amazing and is very articulate. A lot of character in the tone.

Great sound sample! A lot of people don't realize just how long Maui Music has been around--I would totally buy this if I didn't just buy that Collings ut2

I have the deluxe with the round hole. What a gorgeous instrument - and the best playing tenor I've ever had. Someone will be very pleased with this instrument, I'm sure. Does it have the 1 1/2 inch wide neck? love the tuners. My older one has grovers which are ok, but nothing like those gotohs.

Thanks for the comments, Wendell. When I bought it, the specifications did state 1.5" nut width, but I measure it to be a little smaller at 1.466", or 37.25 mm. That's with a precision caliper. I would also like to mention, that the distance between the first and fourth string is 28.75 mm, which is the same distance between strings as my Collings tenor. The Collings has a nut width of 35.25 mm (1 3/8"). So, the string spacing is the same on the MM as the Collings, but there is a little more distance between the strings and the edges of the nut/fretboard on the MM. I have always been partial to Collings ukes for their playability, but I have to say that this MM is just as comfortable and as easy to play as anything I've had in the past. It's an outstanding player overall.

Thanks for your question. Yes, it does indeed have a radius fretboard. Should have mentioned that in the listing! As I mentioned, it is a very comfortable player - this is in part due to the radius, I am sure.

Thanks,

-Steve

I'd be interested in the Oahu case, if it's an arch top that doesn't contact the bridge.

The case is one of the newer one with the arched top. It's mint new condition. Pm me if interested. Thanks!
