I just got an ASONU Tahitian Ukulele on a recent trip to Chile. It is made there by luthier Victor Jofré.

It is tuned like a uke, but with the middle strings (C and E) tuned one octave higher. All strings are the same gauge - 45lb fishing line and are all doubled in unison. He also makes the same ukes with 12 strings, with 4 courses of three strings each

Congrats! It's amazing, the sound that comes outta that uke, with such an itty bitty body. Where is the sound hole?
