SOLD

I have a 30's Martin 1K soprano in excellent condition. It has a matching one-piece figured koa top and back, figured koa sides, Brazilian rosewood binding/fretboard, and bar frets. I'm fairly certain it's from between 1932 -1934 based on research but these ukes are not always easy to pinpoint so I'm going with circa 1930's.
It's in phenomenal shape, no cracks or modifications. It does have some marks on the back that do not break through the finish but it's in great shape otherwise. The setup is perfect and it plays great up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or intonation issues.
It comes with the original canvas softshell case and a new Superior brand hardshell that fits it like a glove.

Nice one. I have a 1k (older) and it is a very nice uke to play. Light and resonnant.

Thanks, they certainly are great little ukes! I prefer the koa over mahogany for finger picking and mahogany for strumming but either way, they are actually quite versatile ukes.

Does the back of the head have the Martin stamp? I cannot see it in the pictures.

Thanks

Django, the headstock stamp was discontinued by this time, in favor of the decal.

Thanks Ernie, good to know. Looks like a very nice instrument. There is nothing quite like Koa.

Any chance of a sound sample or video?

Unfortunately, I'm not setup to record a sample right now. I'll see if I can borrow a recorder and get one done soon.

Thanks!
