Martin C1K low G?

Just wondering if anyone has tried stringing a Martin C1K concert uke for low G tuning -- did you have to modify the nut, and was a new setup needed to achieve correct intonation? I love my reentrant C1K and am having evil gassy UAS thoughts about getting another for low G.

I tried low G on my C1K. I used an unwound string, so I had to widen the slots.

It sounded kinda boomy.

So my advice would be to try a wound low G string. That way you'd see whether you like the sound and wouldn't have to modify the slots just to try it out.
