String recommendations for a Mainland cedar soprano

I got a Mainland red cedar soprano a while back and I'm just haven't bonded with it. I think it because it seems to have a lot of midrange and no lows or highs. Currently it has Martin M600's, which I typically like on most ukes but not on this one. If any of you folks have a cedar topped soprano I'd like to know what you're using.

I've got Martin m600's on mine . I havent played it in a while , I'll have to take it out and listen.

I dig the worth clears. bright sound with a good amount of punch. I think sopranos should be punchy.

I don't have a mainland soprano, but my wife has a Kala cedar top from a number of years ago and I couldn't really get the sound I liked out of it with fluorocarbon strings; and I did try different brands. I ended up putting Aquila Reds on it and it really brightened it up without the higher tension of Nylguts. Can't say if it will help your situation, but it might be worth a try.

I hadn't considered the Reds for some reason. I happen to have a set too. I also have some Super Nylguts on hand and some PHD strings on the way. Now I don't know which to try.
