An owner of an ukulele store who will remain anonymous basically told me he like the Makai brand because they are really Ohanas, made in the same factory , same quality, ...but at a better price point. I am a big fan of Ohana so I am just sharing this info.

I spelled Makai wrong in the tread title. Sorry.

I had come to this conclusion a while ago, but it seems like Makai ukes are become scarcer and scarcer! Are they still in business?

I've got both. I actually think that the Ohana is more like the Mainland brand. I had a cedar top w/Rosewood by Ohana and Mainland and they were the same.
