I hadn't seen this before, but there is a half-hour TV documentary from 1983 on Youtube that portrays Roy Smeck. He was over eighty at the time. I found it very inspirational.
It was a little sentimental to listen to the then-old folks talking about how the world had changed, and how it was a completely new world. And here we are, living in yet another new world that has so little resemblance to the eighties (I was a teenager then).
