With great regret, I’m offering my Pete Howlett tenor for sale or trade. Mint condition. Serial # 55312

I do not want to sell this. It may be the finest uke I’ll ever own, but hand issues make it difficult for me to fret a tenor scale uke cleanly. This one sits forelorn in its humidified case far too often, so I want to find it a home where it’ll be played and appreciated for its fantastic look, feel, and sound, letting me improve my chops on soprano and concert ukes guilt-free.

And, as you probably know, the fine Mr. Howlett is dealing with health concerns (and preparing to head out on a fellowship), so these fantastic instruments are and will be hard to find.

I believe this is a Slim Jim series, makore or koa wood. (Not sure.) Bridge pins.

It’s strung with Martins (re-entrant) and I will include the Stagg nylon foam case and four sets of D’Addario nylon strings.

Photos attached, but here is Mr. Howlett’s web page describing the Hawaiian-style tenor (with the price!) and a link to an image of (perhaps) this very uke when it was for sale:

Some of my not-so-great sound samples (including my not-so-great voice):

$1,200 including shipping w/in CONUS, or will consider trade/$$ for a stellar concert/soprano scale uke. Outside CONUS will cost you more.

If someone wants to swap a Howlett concert or soprano (w/$$ considerations, of course) for this tenor, even better! Let's talk.

Thanks, Janet! It's a great one. Hate seeing it unplayed; hate letting it go.
